| Far ,Far Away in the depths of the Intimate Forest live Prittens, small cats of a very charming and endearing nature. So remote is their habitat that few are aware of their existence but lately nems (humans) have been cutting down the trees and are moving ever closer to the Prittens' home. Mommet, goddess of animals, has promised to forever protect the Prittens and is using the ritual enchantment of the internet to summon worthy rescuers to adopt and care for her precious Prittens. Please note with care that Prittens are NOT TOYS and should not be given to or left unattended with children! Prittens have small pieces parts that are potentially dangerous to children and it would wound a Pritten sorely to cause harm to any! All Prittens are very carefully shipped within the U.S.A. WITH insurance and tracking for their safety! Prittens can be shipped to other countries as well and we already have Prittens living happily overseas! Adopter will recieve an adoption card with details of the Pritten and signed by Harlan. Prittens will bring along their posessions which may be something similar (but not exactly to the sample dowry below. Prittens love toys and books so it's certain to be interesting! To see more Prittens simply search for "Prittens" Needle felting is the process of felting fibers together by repeatedly stabbing the wool roving with a special barbed needle. It is a time consuming process - VERY time consuming! I do NOT work from patterns. I am owned by a lot of cats and they like to pose and I also use photos for reference. |
| GAWAIN is a handsome red and white Scottish Fold Pritten with sparkling green eyes. GAWAIN, as you may guess from his photo, is a hunter of meeses and very skilled he is too!! He contemplated going after the Holy Grail but since he was unsure what a grail was he decided to Hold a meese by its Tail instead. It rhymes: Grail and Tail and GAWAIN thinks that is close enough to qualify as a quest worthy of a Pritten named after one of the Knights of the Round Table. (GAWAIN prefers a circular table to have a hole in the middle so that it resembles a donut.) GAWAIN is about 5" long x 6" high x 2.75" wide. He fits most comfortably in Mommet's hand. Modred Mousie is about 1.75" from feet to nose. GAWAIN was constructed by an artist named Harlan. GAWAIN is made of fine wool batting, merino wool, silk fiber for the fur, glass eyes, monofilament for whiskers, the teeniest bit of glue to keep whiskers and eyes in place. Harlan dyed the silk by hand. Needle Felting is a time consuming art form. Merino wool is so fine that it is difficult to felt without a lot of additional effort. Harlan favors the beautiful finish that this particular wool roving provides. There are over 25 hours of labor just applying the fur, strand by strand and more than twice that to create Gawain as photographed. No patterns are ever used. Harlan may start off with some particular pose in mind but each Pritten ends up deciding for themselves just how they will be. |
